Bitumen Emulsifiers

Bitumen and water have different physical properties and do not naturally mix. Bitumen emulsifiers are used to facilitate the stable combination of these two substances. Emulsifiers help bitumen and water form a bitumen emulsion.

The primary function of bitumen emulsifiers is to enable bitumen to blend homogeneously with water, thereby providing more efficient and cost-effective use during asphalt paving and laying processes.

Bitumen emulsions prepared with emulsifiers are used in a variety of applications, including primer coatings, surface treatments, slurry seal applications, and micro-surfacing.
